What is BabySignsDVD.com?

BabySignsDVD.com is dedicated to educating parents and caregivers about the miracle of baby, infant and child sign language. Children of all ages, from just a few months old, can learn to sign. Even if a child can hear, you’ll be teaching them a second language, one that will serve them well throughout their lives.

A friend of mine actually came up with the idea for this site. For years, I’ve been telling my friends and family about my sign language success with my daughter – even though she could hear, my wife and I showed her sign language on DVD when she was an infant. She picked it up wonderfully, and was able to use it to tell us what she needed, rather than getting frustrated and throwing a tantrum. When I told my friend Pat about it, he said, “You build websites for a living, you should do one for baby sign language. You have a passion for it, and you could help get the message about it out there.”

Who Are You?

I’m a father of two young children, one of whom was taught sign language at an early age (she’s four now) and one of whom is currently being taught (he’s a year old now). I’m a programmer, a web developer, a blogger and a podcaster. I’m also a big believer in sign language for babies and kids (as if you couldn’t tell!). My wife is a nurse, and we live in Texas. Yee-haw!
